Kenneth Mathew Sebastian (born 31 December 1990), known as Kenny Sebastian, is an Indian stand-up comedian and musician known for the Kenny Sebastian YouTube channel.[1] The channel, which broadcasts clips of his stand-up shows, musical comedy and vlogs, had over 1.8 million subscribers and over 180 million views as of September 2026.[2] He released the comedy special Don't Be That Guy on Amazon Prime Video in 2017 and The Most Interesting Person in the Room on Netflix in 2020.[3]

Early life and education

Sebastian was born on 31 December 1990 in Pala, Kerala, into a Malayali family, and was raised in Bangalore. His father served in the Indian Navy, so the family moved across India during his childhood. He studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya NAL in Bangalore and holds a degree in Visual Arts from the College of Fine Arts, Bengaluru.[4] He developed an interest in film-making at 15, borrowing a camera from a friend to shoot short films.

Career

Sebastian started the YouTube channel "Kenny Sebastian" in 2008 with his first video "9 hours to live". He first made parodies and covered popular songs, gradually building a following.[5] He gained early popularity with #KennySingForMe, a series in which he turned words sent in by viewers into songs. He has performed over 800 live shows and toured the United States, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.[6]

Before comedy, Sebastian spent about three years trying to make it as a musician, playing in bars and clubs with a friend as a two-piece acoustic band and recording an album that sold poorly. Those experiences became the basis of Die Trying, a seven-episode Amazon Prime Video series he created and starred in, released in 2018, about two musicians from Bangalore trying to make it big.[7] He was also a judge on Comicstaan, the Amazon Prime Video comedy reality show, and co-wrote and co-starred in the sketch show Sketchy Behaviour with Kanan Gill.[8] He hosts the podcast Simple Ken and posts the Chai Time with Kenny vlog series on his channel.

Personal life

Sebastian married his longtime partner Tracy Alison Viegas in Goa on 16 January 2022. The couple had their first daughter in 2024.[9]
