Kabita's Kitchen is an Indian cooking YouTube channel run by Kabita Singh, known for simple, easy to follow recipes for everyday Indian home food.[1] Launched in 2014, the channel grew from home recipe videos into one of India's most widely followed food platforms, with about 14.6 million subscribers as of September 2026.[2] In 2024 Singh received the Best Creator in Food Category award at the inaugural National Creators Award, presented by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.[3]

Early life and education

Little is publicly documented about Singh's early life. In an interview she recalled growing up with her mother cooking in Kolkata, and she credits her family recipes, including her mother's version of fish curry, as the base of her cooking style.[4]

Career

Singh started Kabita's Kitchen in 2014, when her young son began school and she found herself with free time while managing her home and caring for two young children. She would set up her camera and film late into the night after her children were asleep, focusing on authentic, simple recipes made with easily available ingredients and clear, practical instructions.[5] The straightforward approach resonated with viewers ranging from college students to homemakers, and the channel grew steadily, crossing 14 million subscribers and earning YouTube's Diamond Play Button.

Her content spans regional favourites and vegetarian staples to festive dishes, street food classics and everyday family recipes.[6] In October 2026 she was scheduled to lead a culinary residency at Sun Siyam Olhuveli in the Maldives to mark International Chefs Day.[7]

Personal life

Singh is married to Manish and the couple have two children.[8]
