Nisha Madhulika (born 1959) is an Indian YouTuber and chef known for simple vegetarian Indian recipes on the YouTube channel NishaMadhulika. A former teacher who launched her channel at the age of 52, she is among India's most watched cooking creators.[1] The channel had about 15.1 million subscribers and 3.53 billion views as of January 2026, and she also writes food columns for publications including the Indian Express, Amar Ujala, the Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar.[2]
Early life and education
Madhulika was born in 1959 in Uttar Pradesh, India, where she spent her childhood and college days, and she studied Hindi literature, which later helped her communicate with her audience in clear, simple Hindi.[3] Before cooking became her profession she worked as a teacher.[4]
Career
After her children grew up and moved out, Madhulika started a recipe blog in 2007 to share her love of cooking, then launched the YouTube channel NishaMadhulika in 2011 at the age of 52, posting simple, easy to follow vegetarian recipes in Hindi that reminded many viewers of home cooked meals.[5][6]
Her milestones include being named the Top YouTube Cooking Content Creator at the Social Media Summit and Awards in 2017 and receiving YouTube's Diamond Play Button after crossing 10 million subscribers in 2020.[7] She was also named among the Economic Times top ten Indian YouTubers.[8]
Personal life
Madhulika is married to tech entrepreneur M. S. Gupta, and they have two children.[9]
