Deepinder Goyal (born 26 January 1983) is an Indian entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of Zomato, a food delivery and restaurant discovery platform.[1][2]

Early life and education

Goyal was born on 26 January 1983 in Muktsar, Punjab, India.[1] He studied integrated M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.[3]

Career

Goyal began his career as a consultant at Bain & Company in 2005.[1] In 2008, he co-founded Foodiebay with Pankaj Chaddah, a restaurant listing site that was rebranded as Zomato in 2010.[3] Under his leadership, Zomato expanded internationally and entered food delivery, becoming a unicorn and listing on the Indian stock exchange in 2021, India's first unicorn startup IPO.[1] He appeared as a judge on Shark Tank India season 3 in 2024.[3] In early 2026, he stepped down as Group CEO of Eternal Ltd (Zomato's parent), remaining as vice chairman, and founded new ventures including the health-tech startup Temple.[1][4][5] Forbes estimated his net worth at about $1.6 billion as of January 2026.[1]

Goyal married Grecia Munoz in February 2024.[1]
