Ashneer Grover (born 14 June 1982) is an Indian entrepreneur and investor. He is the co-founder and former managing director of BharatPe, a fintech company.[1][2]
Early life and education
Grover was born on 14 June 1982 in Delhi, India.[3] He earned a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi, including a student exchange at INSA Lyon in France, and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 2006.[1]
Career
Grover spent seven years at Kotak Investment Banking (2006-2013), then worked at American Express, as CFO of Grofers, and at PC Jeweller.[1][4][5] In 2018, he co-founded BharatPe with Shashvat Nakrani, building a single-QR merchant payments and lending business that became a unicorn in August 2021 at a $2.85 billion valuation.[1][5] He resigned as managing director in February 2022.[3][4] He gained wide public recognition as an investor on season 1 of Shark Tank India, authored the memoir Doglapan in 2022, and founded Third Unicorn, the parent of the CrickPe and ZeroPe apps.[3]
Personal life
Grover is married to Madhuri Jain Grover, and they have two children.[3]
