Yadav shot to national fame in 2023 when he entered Bigg Boss OTT 2 as a wildcard contestant and went on to win the reality show — becoming the first wildcard in the history of Bigg Boss to lift the trophy. His catchphrase "Systumm hang" became a national meme during the season.

Since then he has carried that momentum into mainstream entertainment and sport: he captained the Haryanvi Hunters to the inaugural Entertainers Cricket League title in 2024, and in 2025 he debuted as a gang leader on MTV Roadies XX, mentoring the season's winning contestant. He also runs his own clothing label, Systumm Clothing, alongside a second vlogging channel and a gaming channel. In 2026, reports said he was set to make his Bollywood acting debut alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Paresh Rawal in the comedy sequel Malamal Weekly 2.

Early life and education

Yadav was born Siddharth Yadav on 14 September 1997 in Gurugram, Haryana, to Ram Avtar Yadav, a lecturer, and Sushma Yadav, a homemaker. He completed his schooling at Amity International School, Gurugram, and later earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Hansraj College, University of Delhi.

He took the name "Elvish" after his elder brother, who had called him by that name and passed away while Yadav was still a child. He also has an elder sister, Komal Yadav.

Career

YouTube beginnings (2016–2023)

Inspired by Indian creators such as Ashish Chanchlani and Amit Bhadana, Yadav launched his YouTube channel in April 2016, initially calling it The Social Factory before rebranding it under his own name. His early videos — comedy sketches, satire, roast-style commentary and short flash-fiction films, all steeped in Haryanvi culture — found a ready audience among North Indian youth and quickly crossed millions of views.

To broaden his footprint, he added a second channel, Elvish Yadav Vlogs, for daily lifestyle and travel content, and later a gaming channel. By the time reality television called, his main channel had grown past 12 million subscribers. His growth was steady rather than overnight: years of sketches rooted in relatable middle-class North Indian situations gave him a base that later mobilised as the "Elvish Army".

Bigg Boss OTT 2 — wildcard to winner (2023)

Yadav entered the Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss OTT 2 in its fourth week as a wild card contestant — a late entry that many viewers and housemates initially questioned. But his quick wit, one-liners and friendships with fellow contestants Abhishek Malhan and Manisha Rani won over the audience, and on 14 August 2023 he was declared the winner, beating Abhishek in the finale and taking home the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.

The win made him the first wildcard contestant in Bigg Boss history to win the show. His repeated "Systumm hang" line became one of the season's most quoted phrases and later the name of his clothing brand. His massive voting bloc — the self-styled "Elvish Army" — and support from celebrities and political leaders during the finale underlined how completely he had turned a late entry into a winning campaign.

Ventures and public image

Off-screen, Yadav has converted his catchphrases and fanbase into businesses. He owns the apparel brand Systumm Clothing, launched off his signature "systumm" line, and has appeared in music videos that trade on the same swagger. His two YouTube channels run in parallel — the main channel for scripted comedy and roasts, and Elvish Yadav Vlogs for lifestyle content, travel and behind-the-scenes footage. His main channel has grown to around 16 million subscribers as of September 2026.

Following the victory, Yadav dedicated the trophy to his supporters, writing that "This trophy belongs to #ElvishArmy" and that the win was always theirs, not his alone. The triumph turned him into one of Indian reality television's most bankable creator faces, with brands and show-makers lining up for what came next.

Post–Bigg Boss success: ECL and Roadies (2024–2025)

In September 2024, Yadav captained the Haryanvi Hunters in the inaugural Entertainers Cricket League (ECL), a T10 tournament for digital creators. The Hunters beat the Lucknow Lions by 8 wickets in the final at Delhi's IG Indoor Stadium on 22 September, with Yadav himself hitting four sixes in the opening over of the chase.

In 2025, Yadav joined MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross as a gang leader alongside Prince Narula, Neha Dhupia and Rhea Chakraborty. In his debut season, he mentored Kushal Tanwar (popularly known as "Gullu"), who went on to win the season and take home Rs 10 lakh in prize money and a Hero Karizma bike.

Milestones

• Won Bigg Boss OTT 2 (2023) as a wildcard entrant — the first wildcard winner in the show's history.
• Captained the Haryanvi Hunters to the inaugural Entertainers Cricket League title (2024).
• Debuted as a gang leader on MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross (2025) and mentored the season's winner, Kushal Tanwar.
• Built one of India's largest creator-led fan communities, the "Elvish Army", whose voting drove his Bigg Boss victory.
• Reported in 2026 to be making his Bollywood acting debut in Malamal Weekly 2 alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Paresh Rawal.

Style

Yadav's signature is the loud, colloquial Haryanvi persona: brash one-liners, exaggerated desi attitudes and satirical takes on everyday Indian situations. His roast-style videos and flash-fiction short films lean into that regional flavour, which is what set him apart from the metro-centric comedy that dominated Indian YouTube when he started.

Controversies

In November 2023, Uttar Pradesh Police registered an FIR against Yadav over the alleged use of snake venom at a rave party in Noida, and he was arrested in March 2024. In March 2026, the Supreme Court of India quashed the FIR and all subsequent proceedings, ruling that the complaint under the Wildlife (Protection) Act was not filed by an authorised person and that the recovered substance was not a prescribed substance under the NDPS Act. The case had run in the courts for close to three years before the final ruling.
