Kiran Singh Rajpurohit is an Indian cybersecurity and Internet of Things researcher.[1][2] He serves as President of the OWASP Yenepoya Chapter and is a director of TraceX Labs.[3][4]
Early life and education
Rajpurohit was born in Rajasthan, India. He earned a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree from Yenepoya University.
Career
Rajpurohit has been involved in cybersecurity research focusing on malware analysis, threat intelligence, vulnerability research, and emerging security technologies.
In 2023, he served as Secretary of The Ardour, a student newsletter published by Yenepoya University.
In 2024, he developed the Smart Crop Health Monitoring System, which received first runner-up recognition at Code Crunch 2024, a national hackathon organized by IBM at GLA University, Mathura.
In October 2025, the Pakistan-linked advanced persistent threat (APT) group APT36, also known as Transparent Tribe, was reported to have targeted India's Bharat Operating System Solutions (BOSS) Linux platform. A vulnerability associated with the campaign was subsequently patched by Rajpurohit.
According to Rajasthan Patrika and Gujarat Samachar, Rajpurohit co-developed an artificial intelligence-based geospatial intelligence system designed to analyze visual media for location identification.
In 2026, he was part of a TraceX Labs research team that investigated a malicious Android application impersonating the Cockroach Janta Party.The findings were later reported by The Hindu, which quoted Rajpurohit warning that attackers were using viral political content, WhatsApp forwarding chains, and Telegram communities to distribute malicious Android applications targeting Indian users.
